Completed in December 2003, This Memorial was erected to mark the
250th anniversary of the Church at Glendermott, Londonderry. It is also
dedicated to those from Glendermott Parish who lost their lives during
the Second World War and also in the Conflict in Northern Ireland.
The Memorial itself is based on the Ballykelly Monument. The
'Obelisk' and base stone are all polished South African Grey Granite.
These in turn rest on Three Hand finished, Blue Limestone steps. The
inscription is cut and finished in 23 1/2 carat Gold Leaf.
The pictures below show the process of erecting of the Monument at
the site, and the finished piece.
